Following the tragic death of Constable Daniel Woodall on June 8, current Edmonton Poet Laureate Mary Pinkoski has written the poem “It is evening in the city” in honour of his service to the Edmonton community.

Const. Woodall’s regimental funeral at the Shaw Conference Centre yesterday saw thousands of police officers and spectators gathered for the event. He was killed while on duty.

The poem can be read on the Edmonton Arts Council’s Tumblr page, or watch Pinkoski perform the piece with a video collage¬†on the CTV Website.
