Breaking news. Someone from Toronto just wrote about how their city is the centre of everything.
Cathal Kelly, a columnist for the Globe and Mail, put his condescension on full blast, slamming Edmonton as the choice for the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup. He went on to say that when Canada is asked “to stand up in front of the rest of the world”, that Edmonton should never be at the forefront.
“Stand behind Vancouver. No, on the other side of Montreal. All right, why don’t you just crouch down behind Halifax and we’ll hope everyone thinks you’re Ottawa.”
Many took to Twitter to call out Kelly, including Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson.
It’s either self-deprecating satire or a case of newfound T.O. insecurity. It’s hard to tell. Either way, who cares? https://t.co/ubemMYCscg
