African-Canadian spoken word artist Kevan Anthony Cameron, also known as Scruffmouth, will hit the stage tonight as Breath In Poetry Collective’s featured poet in their weekly Rouge Lounge shows.

The Edmonton-born Scruffmouth has performed in the international poetry slam scene for over a decade, and has work published in academic journals, anthologies, and chapbooks. He is also the co-editor of Great Black North: Contemporary African Canadian Poetry.

Tickets for the event will be on sale at the door for $5. There will also be an open mic afterwards.

Karla Comanda

Karla Comanda completed her degree in Comparative Literature, with a minor in Creative Writing, at the University of Alberta. She moved to Canada in 2009 in the middle of her Journalism studies at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. Her work has appeared in The Gateway, The Varsitarian, and Glass Buffalo. She was featured last year in Litfest: Edmonton's Nonfiction Festival.
